Last July 5 2024, PGBI and United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) - Pugad Lawin Chapter formally signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to officially launch the Zero-Energy Building (ZEB) Accreditation Course-an 8-Saturday Program aimed advancing sustainable practices in the building industry.
The strategic collaboration reflects the shared vision of both organizations to champion climate-responsive design, reduce energy consumption in the built environment, and support the transition toward low-carbon and resilient communities. With the built sector contributing significantly to global carbon emissions, the importance of initiatives like the ZEB Accreditation Course cannot be overstated.
Through this partnership, the 14-module course provided a structured platform for knowledge-sharing, technical training, and industry engagement, empowering professionals-particularly architects, engineers, and building practitioners-with the principles and practical tools needed to design and develop Zero-Energy Buildings. The curriculum also covered essential topics such as passive design strategies, renewable energy integration, building performance evaluation, and policy frameworks aligned with both local and international standards.
